    Welcome to Beechwood School!
I am excited to make my transition from a Mountainside teacher to a Mountainside administrator with the Beechwood School community. I had the honor of being a first-grade teacher in 2004 when Beechwood reopened its doors to grades PK-2. I will never forget one of the contractors commenting that our newly renovated school looked like a box of crayons and smelled like chocolate chip cookies. It was then the bear became our official mascot and our rainbow tie-dyed Beechwood Bears shirts were born. I could not be happier coming home to Beechwood.
Fifteen years later, Beechwood School continues to provide a positive, welcoming, and safe learning environment for the youngest of our students. We are fortunate to have a staff comprised of dedicated professionals who believe in the district's mission of ensuring all our students become informed, empathetic and productive citizens who are responsible on a personal, community and global level. We most definitely believe that children are society’s most valuable asset and every decision should be in their best interest.
While I am looking forward to carrying on kindergarten traditions such as the Mothers' Tea and Teddy Bear Day, I am also excited to see new initiatives, such as the Teachers College Units of Study in Phonics continue to grow. At Beechwood, we will continue to help our students thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We are fortunate to be located in a community that values education and goes out of its way to support our schools.
It is going to be an amazing year!
    Proud to be a Bear,
