A Letter from Ms. Weiss

  • Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  We are very excited to start our Fall season off with soccer.  Sports physcials and updated forms need to be into the school nurse, Mrs Branco by August 28th.  You can always find these forms on the Mountainside School website under Services then Health Office.

Soccer tyouts for  6th-8th grade girls and boys will be held September 12,13,14  after school.  An approved physical and forms is required prior to trying out.

Interscholastic athletes play an important role in the total educational development of the student body.  Participation in the interscholastic program allows the student to combine academic and athletic skills in a setting that enables he/she to achieve his or her maximum potential.  Competition in sports teaches a youndg person how to function as an individual within a team in such a manner that both the individual and team benefit.  With proper supervision, the athletes learn how to maintain a positive attitude while experiencing the emotions associated with both winning and losing and gaining the understanding of those individuals who comprise the roles of a team.

It is a priviledge and an honor  for a student to be part of an athletic team and a representative of the school and community.  With this in mind, eligibility standards, self-discipline, hard work and pride will be stressed.

I am looking forward to a excellent school year!

    All my best,

    Deborah Posner

    Athletic Coordinator
